Toronto, Canada. In December I've already posted a EP, Sing & Flow, where John Legend has pleasured us to be part of his gorgeous talent. Now I found this great track "Heartbreaker" by MSTRKRFT ft. John Legend. This unique track has a nice beat surrounded by a bright piano play. It's out of the album "Fist Of God" which was released on 18th September last year.

Tennis - Marathon
Denver, CO, USA. That's amazing. In the first moment, I didn't listening to "Tennis". Cause of its band name and the cover. Well, I expected something totally diffrent. I don't know. By all means, a kind of boring music which I wouldn't recommend to you. But, hell no!! This is (in my eyes) a being in a good mood music. A happy, sunny, lucky, bright, gorgeous music. It's keeping to nod one's head all the time. Lovely!
And if you want to get know "Tennis" better, you'll have to check out this video below. It includes the track "Pigeon".

Peter Bjorn & John - Breaker Breaker
Stockholm, Sweden. I can't believe it. In March PB&J will release "Gimme Some" - the 6th album. I don't know where they have hidden from me the others. Okay, I didn't recognize PB&J until "Young Folks". I thought, "Writer's Block" were their first album (actually the third). And than, I fell in love with their fifth album "Living Thing" (in my eyes, the second). I'd never got in touch with the mystic three albums. Anyway, in 2011 they make us happy, again. With my third PB&J album and worldwide their 6th album. So, clear the way for "Breaker Breaker".

Noah & The Whale - Wild Thing
London, England. They're always get me with their soft ballad sound. I discovered them when I hear a Austrian commercial on the radio. It was "5 Year Times" and its intro starts with whistling the melody. A kind of happy song. But still a ballad. My next favorite song is "Blue Skies" which is a definitely a pure ballad and very very soft and gently and sad. Cause the lyrics tells about the time shortly after a break up. Now my history of loving this band continues. "Wild Thing", try out this ballad. Oh, by the way, the new album "Last Night On Earth" will be released in March.

Cold War Kids - Louder Than Ever
Long Beach, CA, USA. My lovely "Cold War Kids" releasing an new album called "Mine Is Yours" on 24th January. This is the third long player. And on this, there is this gorgeous track "Louder Than Ever". Their sound is so classic, sympathic like on the first album. Moreover, the voice of Nathan Willett is still unique.

Yelle - Safari Disco Club
Saint-Brieuc, France. What we have here, is a very danceable Electro Pop by Yelle. The French-Lady releases on 29th March (US date) the album "Safari Disco Club". Could be a benchmark! But what I'm talking about. Frankly speaking, I have a big weakness for female vocal especially in French. Here is the track. Convince yourself!

Tapes 'n Tapes - Freak Out
Minneapolis, MN, USA. Yeah, Ladies and Gents! Time to freak out! "Tapes 'n Tapes" just release their album "Outside" last week. In US on 11th, in Europe 14th. I think this track "Freak out" (listen below) tells us, Indie Rock is not dead. Not even in the year 2011! I recognized the band from US, when I listen to a sampler by a magazin called "Musikexpress", which is a German magazin. I like them a lot! I mean the "Tapes 'n Tapes".

Foster The People - Helena Beat
Los Angeles, CA, USA. Another wonderful song by Foster The People is in the websphere. I've got it over the newsletter of FTP including tour dates. Well, after "Pumped Up Kids", which I posted last summer, there is a new one. "Helena Beat"! And the beat is gorgeous and very danceable. Of course I can't deny the likeness to MGMT. But that fact doesn't matter to me. Cause a great band with awesome tracks! By the way, "Helena Beat" will be released next Tuesday. It'll be on the new EP.

Beth Ditto - Open Heart Surgery
Searcy, AR, USA. There is she again. Beth Ditto rocks also the year 2011 with her new EP. After she's given away her voice to "Cruel Intention" (track of the second album "Temporary Pleasure" by Simian Mobile Disco). And now, SMD have produced the Beth Ditto EP. They've kept the sound right there, where they've started with "Cruel Intention". I think a great EP. Worth to buy it (available at Beatport).

Big Eyes - Why Can't I
Brooklyn, NY, USA. Actually I don't know what I should say about this band. Except for BRILLIANT. So, I only give you some facts and than be good. Big Eyes is a trio. Kate Eldridge - from defunct Cheeky - with her permeant beautiful voice, Mark Bronzino from Seasick and CJ of Hellhole. Rcrdlbl says: "Big Eyes is a pop-punk gift from the gods." Totally it is! They release a 7-inch "Why Can't I" on 18th January and the album in may.

The Get Up Kids - Shatter Your Lungs
Kansas City, MO, USA. This band was founded in 1995 by Matthew Pryor, Robert Pope, Nathan Shay and Jim Suptic. At that time, according to Wikipedia, they were playing a kind of Emo highly influenced by Indie-Rock. So, they didn't appear on my radar. In 2005 they'd broken up until 2008. And now in 2011 I recognize them the first time. Though, their sound has now nothing to do with Emo (in my opinion). It seems to me The Get Up Kids try to do experiments with their tunes. Their set up includes now a keyboard which you can hear definitely in the track "Shatter Your Lung". On 25th January they'll release a new album called "There Are Rules". In Europe it will be the 4th February.

Diamond Messages - Liquid Summer
From small university in the midwest. That's what is the label Spontaneous Rhythm saying about the origin of this band. It was formed in 2008 by Jason Craig and Anna Preston. But they have broken up, because of distance issues. In 2010, however, Jason started the project again. Happily he's done! "Liquid Summer" always gives me the creeps. Especially, when I watch the video. The Xylophne fits totally perfect. And also the vocals. This "Aaaah Aaaah Aaaaaoh!" is brilliant. A gorgeous track to close your eyes (execpt you watch the video) and lean back. You can listen to the whole EP "Smoke & Mirrors" right here.
